Royal watchers may soon be treated to a tiara moment from Kate Middleton during the upcoming state visit to Oman. The news brings the chance to expect another memorable look from the Princess of Wales, whose style moments have become events in their own right.
Royal fans might get to see Kate Middleton in a tiara again next month
Kate Middleton's next major style spotlight is officially booked, much to the delight of fans eagerly awaiting her return to full royal glamor.
On Thursday, September 3, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman will visit the UK for a state visit from October 20 to 22. Kicking off the season's state visits, the occasion promises another spectacular night at Windsor Castle.
There is history attached to the October visit as well. It will be the Sultan of Oman's first visit in over 40 years. The most recent was in March 1982, hosted by Queen Elizabeth for Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
According to PEOPLE, King Charles and Queen Camilla will welcome the Sultan during the visit. Following the pattern of past state visits, Prince William and Princess Catherine will also play a key role. For the 44-year-old princess, the event could mark her next tiara moment. That said, her participation in state visits has evolved into something much more meaningful than just a show.
Kate Middleton took on an especially high-profile role during US President Donald Trump's state visit to the UK. Seated beside the Commander in Chief at the state banquet, she appeared to win him over, with Trump describing her as "radiant and healthy" in his dinner speech.
In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE on the future queen's impact, royal biographer Ingrid Seward said, "She lightened the whole evening. She lit up the table with the megawatt smile. There was a lot of pressure on her because all eyes were on her. She would be very aware that the most important person there was the King, but she can't help that all eyes are on her."
Context Behind the Anticipated Appearance

State Banquet Protocol: Hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, the itinerary includes a full ceremonial welcome and a glittering white-tie state banquet at Windsor Castle. White-tie banquets are among the few occasions where senior royal women wear tiaras and formal evening orders.
High-Level Diplomatic Role: As Prince William and Kate have routinely taken on primary roles welcoming visiting heads of state on behalf of the monarchy, royal watchers expect the Princess of Wales to attend the formal dinner, providing another major jewelry and fashion moment.

When stepping out for state banquets or annual diplomatic receptions, the Princess of Wales generally draws from a small, historic selection in the royal vault:
Queen Mary's Lover’s Knot Tiara: Her most frequently worn headpiece, famous for its hanging pearls and longstanding association with Diana, Princess of Wales.
The Lotus Flower Tiara: A fan favorite featuring delicate diamond arches and lotus motifs, originally belonging to the Queen Mother.
The Strathmore Rose Tiara:* A rare floral heirloom that Kate famously revived after it had remained out of public view for nearly 90 years.
