Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is thanking Prince William and Catherine, the duke and duchess of Cambridge, for their support following Russia’s military offensive, expressing gratitude that they’re “[standing] by means of our country.”
“Olena and I are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that at this fundamental time, when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia’s invasion, they stand via our u . s . a . and assist our brave citizens,” Zelensky wrote in an early morning Tuesday Twitter post, referring to his wife.
“Good will triumph,” Zelensky added.
The Ukrainian leader’s message got here days after Britain’s royal couple issued a assertion helping the united states following its invasion by Russian forces closing week.
The 2nd in line to the British throne and his wife recalled meeting Zelensky and his wife in 2020 when they realized “of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future.”
"Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine's humans as they bravely battle for that future," the two tweeted on Saturday.
The pair weren’t the only members of the royal family to voice assist for Ukraine.
Prince Harry and Meghan, the duke and duchess of Sussex, wrote on their charitable company Archewell’s website a day previously that they “stand with the human beings of Ukraine towards this breach of global and humanitarian regulation and encourage the global community and its leaders to do the same.”
