Inside the Prince and Princess of Wales surprisingly normal car collection.
Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Prince and Princess of Wales, are known for their royal duties and public appearances, but their car collection reflects a surprisingly relatable side. Despite their status, the couple has favored practical and popular vehicles over the years, alongside a few standout luxury models tied to their royal heritage.
Their collection began modestly. William received a Volkswagen Golf from his father, then-Prince Charles, as a birthday gift after passing his driving test at 17. Around the same time, in 2001, Kate purchased her own VW Golf while studying at the University of St Andrews, where she met William. She later passed it on to her brother James in 2007, upgrading to a silver Audi A3 hatchback a sensible choice for a young adult. This shared preference for the Golf hints at their down to earth beginnings.
