King Charles waited solemnly with all the Royal Family, including Harry and Meghan, as his mother made her closing return to Buckingham Palace - after tens of heaps of well-wishers lined the streets to pay tribute to the Queen.
Mourners cheered and clapped in the rain as the new nation hearse - which the late monarch helped to layout - travelled down Constitution Hill and around the Queen Victoria Memorial, slowing on its approach, earlier than driving through the gates of the palace and thru the central arch into the quadrangle.
With a glass roof and massive facet windows, the hearse was designed to give contributors of the public a clear view, and featured indoors lights that shone brightly in the gloomy London evening.
