Charles has paid tribute to 'cherished Sovereign and much-loved Mother' Queen Elizabeth II, as he is confirmed as Britain's new monarch.
The assertion 'from His Majesty The King' got here simply half an hour after the 'peaceful' passing of the Queen was once announced.
He is now king, and will be known through the regnal identify of King Charles III, Clarence House has confirmed. As his full name is Charles Philip Arthur George there used to be a hazard that he should have opted to use one of these names instead.
His announcement read: 'The death of my loved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all contributors of my family.
'We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother.
'I know her loss will be deeply felt for the duration of the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by way of limitless people round the world.
