Princess Diana's Former Bodyguard 100% Thinks Prince Harry and His Family Need Royal Protection in the U.K.

Looks like we have a new very legitimate member of Team Harry getting into the ongoing public discussion about Prince Harry's rift with the royal fam. Princess Diana's former bodyguard, Lee Sansum is making the rounds speakme to press to promote his new book, Protecting Diana: A Bodyguard’s Story, so ofc he is being asked to weigh in on Harry's notable public dispute about protection (/lack thereof) for his family when they go to the United Kingdom.
As a person who has professionally included members of the royal family, Sansum appears to suppose Harry's request is entirely reasonable.
"I don’t understand what the stumbling block is there….I definitely get it when he is back in the U.K.," Sansum advised Us Weekly. "He need to have protection. I don’t get why he isn’t given it."
Sansum's work in royal bodyguarding started after Diana's divorce from Prince Charles, when he used to be assigned to the security group for Dodi al-Fayed, who Diana was once courting at the time of her death. Diana actually did not have professional royal protection at this time, and Sansum stated he is clearly now not positive if she refused royal safety or was denied it.

"A lot of human beings say she didn’t desire it. People are saying that she couldn’t have it — I don’t honestly know. I can’t comment on that," he said, stressing that Dodi's safety crew used to be "the satisfactory security teams I’ve ever labored with, so she simply happened to get security."
And, FWIW, Sansum points out that Diana sincerely wanted plenty of security even after she had divorced Charles due to the fact even just being related to key working royals can be a danger factor.

"She was once the mother of the heir to our throne and you could simply think … from time to time I contemplate what would’ve happened. Say she’d have been kidnapped or say some thing would’ve befell to her …which quite easily passed off to her," he explained. "It was a tough scenario all around, but we had two policemen with us from the British police. [I would say] 'Look at the guys around you — we’ll protect you. Nothing can happen to you.' I was once simply making an attempt to calm her down and it had a calming effect on her."
