Prince Harry Says He Wishes His Kids Had Met Princess Diana in Speech Before Her Death Anniversary.


Ahead of his late mother's 25th death anniversary, Prince Harry is reflecting on Princess Diana's legacy. The Duke of Sussex — who's scheduled to return to Europe in September with spouse Meghan Markle for a handful of charity occasions — paid tribute to Diana at the Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup that took location on Aug. 25 in Aspen, CO. There, in aid of his charity company Sentebale, Harry touched on his hopes for honoring his mother this year.



"In Sesotho, the language of the Basotho, the word Sentebale potential 'forget-me-not.' Next week is the twenty fifth anniversary of my mother's death, and she most surely will in no way be forgotten," he stated at the event, per Harper's Bazaar. "I prefer it to be a day filled with recollections of her splendid work and love for the way she did it. I prefer it to be a day to share the spirit of my mum with my family, with my children, who I wish may want to have met her."
Diana used to be tragically killed in a automobile crash in Paris on Aug. 31, 1997. She left at the back of sons Prince William and Harry, who have been 15 and 12 years old, respectively, at the time of her death. Diana was once honored with a public funeral on Sept. 6, 1997, and used to be laid to rest at her childhood home, Althorp in Northamptonshire.
Before her untimely death, Diana used to be concerned with over 100 charities, and Harry's Sentebale — an business enterprise dedicated to assisting youngsters and young humans in Southern Africa affected by using poverty, inequality, and HIV/AIDS, in accordance to its website — is an extension of her life's work. In his Sentebale address, Harry saluted his mother's "tireless" efforts "to aid and destigmatize those experiencing HIV/AIDS," before noting his hopes for how her legacy will be celebrated.

For Sentebale, our dedication is to ending HIV and presenting meaningful care and assist for the adolescents and young people whose lives have been affected by means of this disease. Because they too will by no means be forgotten."
