Prince William and Princess Kate pose for striking portrait at Harry and Meghan's wedding reception venue.
The future King and Queen Consort look regal in the photo, which was released hours after a new Harry interview was published.
The site of the Prince and Princess of Wales' latest portrait holds a special connection to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. William and Catherine posed on a staircase at Frogmore House, the venue where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's evening wedding reception was held. The black-and-white photograph of the heir to the throne and the Princess, taken by photographer Greg Williams, was released ahead of Tuesday's state banquet for the Sultan of Oman at Windsor Castle.
The Princess of Wales looked positively regal, wearing a yellow caped Elie Saab gown, paired with Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara, the late Queen Elizabeth's earrings and bracelet, and the King Charles II Royal Family Order, GCVO Sash and Star, as she stood beside her husband, who was dressed in white tie with his miniature medals and orders.
It's not the first time that Frogmore House has served as the backdrop for one of William and Catherine's pre-banquet portraits. The couple, who reside at Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, posed for a festive one last December next to a Christmas tree prior to attending the banquet for German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Frogmore House, located within the grounds of Windsor Home Park, is about half a mile south of Windsor Castle. The royal residence is where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's private evening wedding reception, hosted by Harry's father, now-King Charles, took place in May 2018.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were among the 200 guests at the reception, which featured fireworks, a speech by the bride and dancing, including Meghan and Harry's first dance to Wilson Pickett's Land of 1000 Dances."
William and Catherine's appearance on Tuesday during the Sultan's state visit to the UK coincided with the release of a new interview Prince Harry gave. During a sit-down with GQ, the Duke was asked if he grieves his relationship with his father and older brother, to which he replied: "Yes, of course. I think from a family perspective, again: another massively relatable issue for so many people.
"There's sibling disagreements, there's broken relationships between kids and their parents, kids and one parent. That continues to come up with me the whole time by people that I speak to. So I know how relatable it is. That's probably why there's so much fascination.
"And then people maybe look at us and go, 'How are you going to work it out?' And then, maybe, how I see you’re going to work it out, maybe that will help me work my stuff out. And some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out."
Harry's spokesperson later clarified that the remark "was absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of the family."

This headline refers to a dramatic black-and-white formal portrait of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, captured on the staircase at Frogmore House in Home Park, Windsor.
The setting sparked widespread tabloid attention because Frogmore House is famously the private venue where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their intimate evening wedding reception in May 2018, hosted by King Charles III.
The Occasion and Styling.
The portrait was captured by celebrity photographer Greg Williams as William and Kate prepared to attend a grand State Banquet at Windsor Castle in honor of the Sultan of Oman.
Regal White-Tie Attire: The Princess of Wales wore an ethereal floor-length caped gown, paired with Queen Mary’s Lover's Knot Tiara, the Royal Family Order, and the Dame Grand Cross sash. Prince William stood alongside her in full formal evening military dress uniform and miniature medals.
Cinematic Setting: Posed symmetrically at the base of the ornate wrought-iron staircase inside Frogmore House beneath a historic lantern chandelier, the portrait evokes classical royal court imagery.
Why the Location Drew Headlines.
1. The Sussex Connection: Beyond hosting Harry and Meghan's wedding after-party, Frogmore House sits directly adjacent to Frogmore Cottage, the former UK residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
2. Routine Convenience vs. Tabloid Subtext: While royal comment pieces frequently frame the location choice through the lens of family drama or competing PR moments, the reality is practical. Frogmore House is located just minutes away from William and Kate's Windsor home, making its historic state rooms a regular, private staging area for portraits before Windsor Castle banquets.
The portrait reinforces the couple’s transition into their senior-most roles as the future King and Queen Consort—showcasing full state-level grandeur while rooted in their primary base at Windsor.
