The Princess of Wales may have been up and out for most of the weekend completing her impressive Three Peaks mountain challenge, but she shows no signs of slowing down.

Kate, 44, quietly returned to work on Tuesday morning with an engagement out of the public eye. 

In her role as patron of her and Prince William's Royal Foundation, Kate received Australian philanthropist Nicola Forrest at Windsor Castle, according to the official Court Circular, which records the royal family's engagements. 

Nicola is the founder of the Coaxial Foundation and the Minderoo Foundation, one of Australasia's largest charitable organisations.

No details of the meeting or any photographs were released, but it could signal some exciting upcoming projects for Prince William And Kate. 

It's long been hoped that the couple would visit Australia, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese issuing a "standing invitation" last year, saying he was "hopeful" they would return. 

Meanwhile, Kate's husband, Prince William, has travelled to Scotland for the Royal Week events, including the Thistle Service at St Giles's Cathedral in Edinburgh. The Princess of Wales is not expected to join him.

Kate is likely feeling pretty tired after climbing three mountains over the weekend – Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Wales – over 24 hours. 

She took on the impressive challenge, known as the "Three Peaks", to raise funds for the Royal Marsden, where she received her treatment for cancer. 

After taking on the challenge solo, she was greeted at the bottom of Snowdon by her family, including her husband, Prince William, and three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight. Also present were her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her brother, James. 

She walked 23 miles and travelled 462 miles between locations, being driven by a team from Kensington Palace.

The Princess was pictured smiling in a baseball cap at the summit of Ben Nevis in a picture shared on social media. 

In an accompanying message, she said: "Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear the words no one wants to hear. What follows is a path that tests every part of who we are: physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. The challenges ripple outwards, touching families, friendships, work and the quiet moments we spend alone with our thoughts.

"Cancer doesn't just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life. I know this personally, and that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than medicine alone.

"I have taken on the National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavour but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back. The Royal Marsden is a place that holds great meaning for me and whose care and expertise are life changing for so many people."
