All of the Jewelry The Princess of Wales Has Worn to Subtly Pay Tribute to Her 3 Children.

The Princess of Wales has mastered the art of the symbolic gesture.

Kate Middleton's wardrobe has long been the subject of sartorial speculation, but her jewelry collection—much of which she inherited from Princess Diana—arguably contains just as much symbolic weight. Most famously, of course, she wears her late mother-in-law's iconic engagement ring and a small selection of tiaras. When it comes to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, however, Middleton always takes extra care to keep them "close to her heart." Case in point? Her bevy of initial necklaces, many of which have come courtesy of jewelry designer Daniella Draper.

“Seeing her wearing one of my designs was a very proud moment," Draper once gushed in an interview with People. "Everyone in the workshop thinks it’s just amazing. It’s good morale!”

Aside from wearing her children's initials around her neck, Middleton has also opted to pay homage to each kid by reaching for their birthstone, for example, or by rewearing a piece that's associated with an important milestone, such as a birthday or a christening. Ahead, here are seven pieces of jewelry that the Princess of Wales wears when she want to keep her kids nearby, metaphorically speaking.

1. Daniella Draper pendant necklace.

Middleton has not one but two Daniella Draper necklaces with ties to her three children, the first one being the brand's $2,000 Gold Midnight Moon necklace. The pendant is sweetly engraved with the initials "G," "C," and "L." The Princess of Wales has been seen wearing the accessory since early 2020 and recently donned it for a surprise visit to a children's charity in Oxford, England.

2. Daniella Draper initial necklace.

Middleton memorably wore her second Daniella Draper necklace for her first overnight trip since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March 2024. The trip, which took place just over one year later, was a celebration of her and Prince William's 14th wedding anniversary. Middleton kept her kids close to her heart, literally speaking, with their three initials strung along a gold chain. She wore the $300 accessory a few months later for an engagement at the Natural History Museum and again for a solo visit to textile mills in Sudbury and Cuxton.

3. Cassandra Goad pearl earrings.

Beyond their initials, Middleton also pays subtle tribute to her children by rewearing jewelry from important milestones. Exhibit A: her pearl cluster earrings, worn to the installation of the first female Archbishop of Canterbury in 2026, which she originally donned for Prince Louis's christening at St. James's Palace back in 2018. Designed by Cassandra Goad, the earrings were made to look like the head of a cauliflower and cost approximately $10,210.

4. Cartier Trinity earrings.

Cartier's iconic Trinity earrings are an easy go-to for Middleton given that she has three children (the $4,100 hoops feature three intertwined bands of 18-carat white, yellow, and rose gold). Thought to symbolize past, present, and future, as well as love, loyalty, and friendship, the Trinity collection was also a favorite of Middleton's late mother-in-law Princess Diana.

5. Kiki McDonough oval drop earrings.

Middleton debuted her Kiki McDonough oval drop earrings during a royal tour of India and Bhutan back in 2016. At the time, People reported that the $4,995 earrings were "made-to-order" and were "a gift following Princess Charlotte's birth." Featuring a combination of green tourmaline and green amethyst, the earrings thus serve as a subtle tribute to the royal's daughter every time she wears them—including, more recently, for a St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2025.

6. G Collins and Sons ruby drop earrings.

Middleton's pair of G Collins and Sons ruby drop earrings each feature a ruby stone encircled by diamonds, a.k.a. Prince George's birthstone. The princess wore the earrings, which are believed to be worth $100,000, to two poignant occasions in 2025: VE Day and the Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum. Following the latter event, Tatler reported that the sparkling earrings were likely a tribute to her eldest son.

7. All The Falling Stars necklace.

Kate Middleton's initial necklace from the brand All The Falling Stars was gifted to her during a royal visit to Galway in March 2020. Several months later, the princess debuted it to meet with parents and children in London's Battersea Park. Much like her other initial necklaces, this one features the letters "G," "C," and "L," each engraved on a gold disc. It retails for $161 and is made with 14k gold, per the brand's website.
