Why Kate Middleton is willing to personally defy Prince William in controversial royal move.
The Princess of Wales is going her own way on this one...
The Princess of Wales is gearing up to defy Prince William according to a royal insider, in the hopes that she can reunite her husband with his estranged brother, Prince Harry, after years of frostiness.
Harry stepped down from his royal duties with his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in 2020, and has since (repeatedly) shared intimate details of a feud between the siblings, even claiming in his memoir, Spare, that things between himself and William turned physical at one point – following an altercation relating to Meghan.
Meghan has also spoken out about how she and the Princess of Wales fell out in the run-up to her royal wedding to Harry, over a bridesmaid dress for Princess Charlotte.
So! To say it's all been hella messy would be fair...
Now, with King Charles' health in a delicate position following a cancer diagnosis, Princess Catherine is steeling herself to go against William's wishes and reach out directly to Meghan with an olive branch, in the hopes that the family can finally put their differences aside and move forward.
Reports suggest William is strongly against this, but Catherine feels it's up to her to reunite the warring brothers – and she knows that she can only do that by involving Meghan.
A source told RadarOnline of the bold move, "Kate has nothing but peace and love in her heart moving into 2026. She's willing to open up dialogue with Meghan after years of giving her the silent treatment, even if Prince William thinks it's a terrible idea.
"She's painfully aware there's no path to Harry without getting Meghan's blessing. That's why she's working with her staff to figure out a viable approach to Meghan."
It's said that Harry and potentially Meghan are looking to visit the UK this summer as part of the Invictus Games, which Catherine has seen as window of opportunity then.
Can she pull it off? Watch this space...
