Royal brothers divided: William shares a heartwarming tale of home life with Prince Louis on anniversary of Queen's death... while solemn Harry visits her grave just miles away.
Prince William today shared a sweet insight into Prince Louis's cheeky antics at home - as his estranged brother Prince Harry visited the late Queen Elizabeth II's grave just seven miles away.
The Prince of Wales, 43, made the lighthearted comments during an engagement to mark the third anniversary of his late grandmother's death, which Catherine also attended in a last-minute decision to stand by her husband's side.
Their visit to Sunningdale, Berkshire, came as Prince Harry laid a wreath and flowers at the late Queen's grave in St George's Chapel, at Windsor Castle, which means the royal brothers were just a 16-minute drive away.
The Duke of Sussex today returned to the UK for the first time in five months for a four-day visit but Meghan has stayed behind in California with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
The fact the brothers were so close but did not meet suggests that while they were united in grief, they are still worlds apart. There are still, however, hopes of a royal reunion between Harry and his father, King Charles, who he has not seen in 19 months.
As Harry solemnly paid a private tribute to the late Queen, the Waleses were entertained at the local branch of the Women's Institute (WI), where William said he 'can't quite believe it has been three years already' since his grandmother's death.
During their visit, William was also asked if Prince Louis, seven, is 'a handful'. Smiling and suppressing his laughter, William replied: 'To be honest, he's a character, but he's a very good boy.'
He added that his youngest son, who is known for his cheeky displays at public events, likes to 'wind his brother and sister up.'
Perhaps more surprising is what the father-of-three said about his eldest child, Prince George, 12, who is second in line to the throne.
Implying that Prince Louis and 10-year-old Princess Charlotte's older brother also has a mischievous streak, William said: 'When George is behind closed doors, it's a completely different ball game.'
The sole difference between George and Louis, according to their father, is that 'George just knows how to behave'.
Acknowledging that there's five years between the two boys, William added that 'Louis hasn't learnt that yet'.
And, in a comment that parents across the world will be able to relate to, he continued: 'They're growing up fast.'
Earlier this year, Louis was hilariously caught rolling his eyes at his older brother George as they joined members of the Royal Family to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day in London.
The expressive royal couldn't help but tease his older sibling as they sat next to one another to watch the military procession.
Louis - known for his animated antics - appeared to roll his eyes when George looked towards him during the event at Buckingham Palace.
He also mimicked his big brother by brushing his fringe off his face in the same way George had done - but added a little of his trademark cheeky flair to the movement as he swished his hair to the side while pulling an over exaggerated facial expression.
It's unclear whether the young royal was looking up to his older brother in a bid to be just like him, or just teasing George - but royal fans were left in stitches either way.
And, at June's Trooping the Colour, an event which is meant to mark the official birthday of the reigning monarch, it was again little Prince Louis who stole the show.
The youngster waved enthusiastically to royal fans as he sped down the Mall in an Ascot Landau with his mother Catherine, Princess of Wales, and his siblings George and Princess Charlotte, 10.
Meanwhile, their father Prince William took part in the parade on horseback alongside the Duke of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal.
Taking a moment to himself while driving by a sea of Union Jacks, Prince George, who is second in line to the throne, placed his hands over his eyes.
A toothy Prince Louis reacted by mimicking his older brother's gesture.
Cameras captured the sweet moment Prince George responded to his brother's antics with a beaming smile as the younger, more cheeky royal threw his head back with laughter.
Before they could get up to more mischief, Catherine led the children inside to prepare for the famed flypast.
Catherine unexpectedly joined William this morning at Sunningdale - just a 16-minute drive away from Windsor Castle, where the Duke of Sussex visited his grandmother's grave today.
Originally only William had planned to attend the event to mark his 'Granny's' passing, but sources said Catherine was keen to join her husband to commemorate and celebrate the beloved monarch.
