Kate and her pals dined at the Turntable & Napkin restaurant throughout the festival, the place a four-course meal prices £60.
The Princess used to be dining with the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley at their home at the time the competition used to be taking place on their 1,000-acre estate.
A source advised the Mail: "After dinner, one of the friends counseled that Catherine go to the festival.
"Catherine was once anxious about the idea, but, after a great deal dialogue with her safety officers, she went with lots of security.
'William wasn't there."
It comes as a royal commentator claimed Prince Harry will not speak to Princess Kate privately without Meghan Markle's blessing.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are not presently on speakme terms with the Sussexes.
Kinsey Schofield rubbished claims that the Princess of Wales and the Duke of Sussex have spoken recently.
She said: "The Prince and Princess of Wales are laser-focused on their dreams for 2023 and are no longer distracted by the drama that appears to observe the Sussexes.
"They have made it a factor to distance themselves.
"Meanwhile, Harry is defiant and will insist that there aren’t any ‘difficulties.’
"I for my part don’t believe that Harry would communicate to Catherine privately besides Meghan’s blessing."
William and Kate currently have a strained relationship with the Sussexes after Prince Harry launched a number of attacks on the Royal Family in his autobiography Spare.
Since leaving the monarchy, the Sussexes' have issued multiple public attacks on the Royal Family via TV interviews, a Netflix series and Harry's memoir.
