The Princess of Wales has instructed how her one-of-a-kind Westminster Abbey carol service is dedicated to the late Queen ‘and to all those who are alas no longer with us’.
In an introduction filmed for Royal Carols: Together At Christmas — which will be broadcast day after today — Kate talks emotionally of Queen Elizabeth’s affinity with the festive length ‘as a time which brings people collectively and reminds us all of vital values’.
The 40-year-old royal held her first tournament ultimate year, which was once such a success that she decided to carry it again – in the probability that it should become an annual fixture. She said: ‘Last year’s event reminded me what I love most about Christmas, seeing human beings coming together, celebrating and experiencing extraordinary moments, at the same time as also thinking about the year that’s passed.
‘This Christmas will be our first besides Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Her Majesty held Christmas shut to her heart, as a time that added people collectively and reminded us of the significance of faith, friendship and family, and to exhibit empathy and compassion.’
This year, the Princess has invited heaps of ‘inspiring individuals’ to the provider to understand their contributions up and down the country. She described them as: ‘Those who showcase the electricity of connectedness and neighborhood values, allowing us to continue Her Majesty’s subculture of recognising and thanking those who have gone above and past to aid others.’
And she added: ‘Her Majesty leaves with us an first-rate legacy and one that has deeply inspired many of us. This year’s carol carrier is committed to her and to all these who are regrettably no longer with us.
‘So, even as Christmas will sense very extraordinary this year, we can nevertheless consider the memories and traditions we shared.
‘Take time to slow down and rejoice with household and friends all the outstanding things that make Christmas so special.’
