Prince Harry recalls the moment he knew Meghan Markle was his ‘soulmate’.

 


Prince Harry realized Meghan Markle was his “soulmate” at some stage in one of their journeys to Africa.

The Duke of Sussex, 37, recalled the candy memory Monday while delivering a keynote tackle in honor of Nelson Mandela International Day at the the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

“Since I first visited Africa at thirteen years old, I’ve constantly observed hope on the continent,” he shared, calling it his “lifeline” the place he’s “found peace and recuperation time and time again.”


“It’s the place I felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died,” he went on, “and the place I knew I’d determined a soulmate in my wife.”

Harry and Meghan, 40, visited the continent twice in the course of their courtship and as soon as after they had been married.


The couple first traveled to Botswana shortly after they began relationship in July 2016 and returned the following August to have fun the Duchess of Sussex’s thirty sixth birthday.

However, in early 2020, Harry, Meghan and Archie, now 3, briefly moved from the UK to Vancouver Island in Canada after stepping lower back as senior contributors of the royal family.
