Reports of a gorgeous offer from the Queen to her grandson and his wife made headlines around the world lately – but insiders have now set the file straight.
There’ll be no wafts of Scottish heather and bracing hikes for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they are not on the Balmoral summer season guest list.
Despite reviews the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to be part of the Queen on her annual summer season wreck in the highlands, New York Post reports there was once no such invite.
The Sun claimed staff at the 96-year-old monarch’s Scottish estate had been told to expect a full list of royals, such as “Harry, Meghan and their teenagers Archie and Lilibet”.
However, more than one sources verified to Page Six that the Sussexes will no longer be going to visit Harry’s grandmother.
The couple will continue to be in the US beforehand of the booklet of Harry’s much-anticipated memoir this fall.
Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, remaining saw the Queen in June when they flew to the UK to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee. There, they added one-year-old daughter Lilibet – nicknamed Lili – to her first-rate grandmother for the first time.
The Queen, in fact, bought to meet her namesake twice, as Page Six revealed.
Although they were now not invited on to the balcony at Buckingham Palace, the Sussexes – sans teens – then attended the Trooping the Colour ceremony and a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral.
However, they did no longer spend any private time with Harry’s brother, Prince William, his spouse Kate Middleton and their three children. Although the Cambridges had been invited to Lilibet’s first birthday gathering at Frogmore Cottage, they were in Wales on legitimate business.
They did manage to introduce Lilibet to her grandfather, Prince Charles, in an “emotional” meeting, sources shut to the heir to the throne later said.
The Queen was spotted in Scotland last week, and will spend the months of August and September at her highland retreat, where she will be joined through different household members, inclusive of William, Kate and their kids, Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.
