The author said the relationship between the Sussexes and the royal family has been "poisonous" because the couple's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
"I think it's very toxic," he said.
"I think they do their best, the Windsors, Prince Charles, The Queen, to maintain it cool however it's impossible.
"Especially with Harry's memoir about to come out.
"But ever seeing that Meghan left Britain and did the Oprah Winfrey interview it's been truely poisonous."
During their interview with Oprah remaining year, Harry and Meghan alleged a member of the monarchy had concerns over their son Archie's skin colour.

The Sussexes had also been upset over Archie no longer being given the title of prince as well as being "cut off financially" after their move to the US.
Bower instructed the programme the well-known interview inspired him to write the book, specifically about the former Suits actress, calling her "disgraceful".
"I didn't genuinely begin thinking about Meghan, other than interest, until Oprah Winfrey interview. That's what sparked it," he said.
"I notion that was once simply such a disgrace. I thought she behaved so badly and Harry too.
"I desired to understand why and what came about before. What used to be her lifestyles about? Who would lead her into that interview the place she said so many matters that have been simply untrue and so damaging."
Viewers had been furious with Bower's remarks and demanded he be "taken off" the show.

The e book has been criticised on social media as unfairly biased for interviewing sources who have been extraordinarily vital of the pair.
"Well, it's now not biased in the sense I do my very excellent to balance it," Bower stated.
"There's a lot of desirable things about Meghan there. She's ambitious. She's good-looking. She is decided … and in the end, she succeeded in getting a man who constructed her up that she was searching for all along.
"But on the different hand, along the way, there were many victims and I assume the victims, obviously, are the human beings I seem to be for because she did her very nice to stop her friends and the people she'd worked with to discuss to me.
"So, obviously, I had to work challenging to get the stability but I assume it is a book which is balanced.
