According to Tina Brown in The Palace Papers, Meghan desired her lifestyle weblog The Tig to end up the next Goop.
Tina Brown's The Palace Papers has been full of captivating revelations, from the serious (Prince Philip's feeling on Princess Diana's funeral) to the fun (the karaoke Kate Middleton sang on her bachelorette night). In the chapters about Meghan Markle's pre-royal life, readers study about her ambitions.
Filming Suits, Brown writes, "she regularly was still on set at four a.m. She spent the downtime furiously updating The Tig, which she was once convinced, now not barring reason, ought to emulate the success of Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow’s canny second-act advent of a pampering and wellness e-commerce site, with its $550 restoration quartz necklaces and $66 yoni eggs for stronger orgasms."
"'Meghan was once constantly speakme about Goop,' one of the Suits group instructed me," Brown writes.
Yet, Brown factors out that The Tig and Goop had little in common, due to Meghan's earnestness: " What it lacked was once Paltrow’s sly positioning that she was in on the joke of monetizing eyeballs. The wink-wink sensationalism of Goop’s 'This Smells Like My Vagina' candle would in no way have discovered itself onto Meghan’s earnestly tasteful Tig."
In April 2017, Meghan shut down her beloved lifestyle website, writing, "After shut to three lovely years on this adventure with you, it is time to say goodbye to The Tig. What started out as a ardour undertaking (my little engine that could) advanced into an amazing community of inspiration, support, exciting and frivolity. You've made my days brighter and stuffed this experience with so lots joy. Keep discovering these Tig moments of discovery, preserve laughing and taking risks, and keep being 'the change you desire to see in the world.'"
She concluded her goodbye message: "Above all, do not ever neglect your worth - as I've advised you time and time again: you, my candy friend, you are enough. Thank you for everything."
